Our Commitment to Solidarity

About

We are committed to unifying people through freedom of speech. We use dialogue as a vehicle to cultivate a patchwork of social innovators who are also committed to equity and inclusion.

Purpose:

Commit to engage in at least one brave conversation each day. To be shared as an online petition for those willing to commit to this vow.

Statement of Commitment:

I commit to have at least one brave conversation a day for 365 days. I vow to engage others as my equal while coming to the table as my authentic self, standing in my truth.

  • Engage as my equal, a person of a different race than me
  • Engage as my equal, a person of a different gender than me
  • Engage as my equal, a person of a different culture than me
  • Engage as my equal, a person of a different sexual orientation than me
  • Engage as my equal, a person of a different economic bracket than me
  • Engage as my equal, a person of a different educational background than me
  • Engage as my equal, a person of a different spiritual belief system than me
  • Engage as my equal, a person of a different ability capacity than me
  • Engage as my equal, a person of a different age than me

I will share a part of that story via social media using #SaintHarriet as a way to demonstrate equity in action and encourage others to stand for the unity of humanity.

“Rather than speaking truth to power. Speak truth to be powerful. Speak truth to yourself to reclaim your self. Speak truth to realize your own power. The moment I state that I am speaking truth to power, I am looking outside of myself… I am giving away my power… I am giving away my power to another. This is the power that is granted all beings. I am you and you are me. And we are both powerful.”- Reginald White Leadership Professor at Cornell Universal
